It was a season to remember for the Coquitlam Midget A3 Chiefs who finished fourth overall in the province. Assembled in September by head coach Jerry Ramik, the team comprised of 13 rookies and 5 veterans quickly moved up the ranks and compiled an incredible season and tournament record of 28 wins, 3 ties and only 9 losses. The playoffs were no different as the Chiefs went undefeated until the last game of the final 4 where they lost a heartbreaker 5-4 against a very strong Sunshine Coast squad. The run was good enough however to qualify the team for the Midget Tier 3 Provincial Championships in Dawson Creek March 15 to 18, 2015. Faced with playing playoff banner winners from around the province, the Midget A3 Chiefs were up against the best of the best. They surprised many, winning their pool by tying the host Dawson Creek 5-5, beating arch rival Sunshine Coast 7-4 and then beating finalists Quesnel 3-1. Their incredible run came to an unfortunate end when the team lost in the semi-final to eventual and defending B.C. Tier 3 champion Terrace 7-3. Congratulations to all players, coaching staff and parents who represented Coquitlam Minor Hockey with pride.
