Canucks First Strides Program Coming to Summerland

The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey announced that the Vancouver Canucks will hold a First Strides Program in Summerland, BC on September 10, 2011 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Summerland Arena. The program is in conjunction with the Canucks visit to Penticton and the Okanagan region for their rookie and training camps.

The program will be open to 72 minor hockey players aged six (6) to eight (8) and the cost of the camp is $50.00 including all taxes.
BC Hockey coaches and course conductors will be on-ice with the players to guide them through the day. Emphasis of the camp will be to develop player’s fundamental skills on the ice, while teaching them the important concepts of fair play and teamwork. In addition, a BC Hockey representative will be on hand to conduct a parent presentation which will focus on the approach a good hockey parent will take towards the game.

Please note that appearances from Vancouver Canucks players and coaches will be based on availability.

The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey is a partnership between the Vancouver Canucks and BC Hockey. The main objective of the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey is to strengthen the bond between the Vancouver Canucks Hockey Club and the BC Hockey membership.
