COACH SELECTIONS FOR 2014-2015 ATOM, PEE WEE, BANTAM, MIDGET, JV
We have concluded our interviews and are pleased to announce:
John Blessman has been one of our strongest development coaches in the association for some time. He has played in the professional ranks and coached in high performance programs. We feel this candidate is ideal for Atom as his focus in the past few years has been early development of players.
John is a recognized brand inside and outside our hockey association and it is our privilege to select him for this position.
Keith Peterson brings along a great assistant to provide a strong tandem for the association. Keith is very knowledgeable with high performance programs and systems. His superior level of playing, experience, and coaching makes him a valuable asset to CMHA.
Keith is very motivated for the move into Pee Wee as he welcomes the matured kids to be able to teach advanced programs. We are delighted to announce that we have selected Keith for the Pee Wee A1 team for 2014-2015 season
Doneau Menard is the CMHA Hockey Director with a lifetime of high performance hockey training. He played in the WHL and BCJHL as a phenomenal player and immediately joined the JR. A coaching ranks to provide development to BC’s top prospects.
Doneau is in the BC Hockey HP 1 program that will complete is accreditation to coach at the National Level. CMHA is pleased to announce Doneau as our Bantam A1 coach selection * Subject to ratification
Jacob Mangone The Association believes that Jacob is a strong young coach that respects his players and has a strong passion to coach in CMHA. He has high aspirations in his future within the association and strongly feel that his continued experience will enhance his strengths to eventually become one of the stronger coaches in the association.
We are pleased to announce Jacob as our Bantam A2 coach selection.
Steve Rickards is another young asset that the committee agreed that we need to protect and grow within CMHA. It was notable he admitted he could utilize some mentorship in certain areas and understood that his team needs to be run as a business during the season. This candidate will be very strong with the correct manager partnership. He has coached in several divisions and we are confident that he will achieve accolades in his coaching career.
The selection committee is excited to announce Steve Rickards as our Bantam A3 coach.
Jamie Dodd was very impressive and perhaps our strongest overall candidate among all applicants. We feel that his technical knowledge of hockey exceeded expectations that we are looking for in a coach.
He has played and coached at a high level of hockey. Jamie took a short absence, however now with his children older – he is excited to be back to offer his services. Our findings conclude that he will be fantastic for the position and a strong mentor to enhance the brand of CMHA.
Mark Goble was our former director of hockey development and brings vast experience to the game.
Mark has played at the high performance level and coached several teams in the BCJHL. We are pleased to announce Mark (subject to CMHA player/parent regulations) as our A2 selection.
Jerry Ramak is returning as our A3 coach with brilliant reviews from the 2013-2014 season. Jerry will be utilized during the season to Mentor younger coaches as the CMHA has recognized his advanced teaching abilities.
We are excited to announce that Jerry is our selection for the Midget A3 team.
Doug Shantz is one of our returning veteran coaches that has many seasons of accolades and success.
