On behalf of all of the CMHA coaching group, I would like to invite you to the first of what hopefully becomes a regularly scheduled event….Coaches vs. Coaches.
The idea is that we get together as an association, partly to have fun, partly to get our coaches together for a fun evening of hockey and laughter, but mainly to raise donations on behalf of CMHA for the Food Bank and the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy victims. The goal is to ice two teams of Coquitlam Coaches and have a fun scrimmage and maybe a “skills” competition. Invites to all association members and players is encouraged. Players are invited to come out and cheer or jeer their coaches as they represent CMHA in this fund raising event.
Admission will be by non-perishable food donation or cash donation to the Red Cross.
We have secured ice time on the Poirier Main rink on December 3, 2012 from 6:30-9:15. We should be able to have a great game – full 20-minute periods, referees, etc. If anyone has ideas on intermission entertainment, like a special appearance by FIN, or anyone else semi-famous, let me know.
What we require from ALL head coaches is a count of coaches, including assistants that want to participate. Please send me your team, Coaches names that are interested and their approximate ability on a scale of 1-10 (1- beginner – 10 – Mario Lemieux). Full equipment must be worn.
We will set up teams and try to balance so that everyone has a good time. Please remember that this is purely for FUN and contributing to a couple of very good causes at a time when it’s needed most.
I could also use names of people that want to volunteer to make sure that this can be pulled off. Send me details if you want to help out. Anyone that can donate prizes or gifts for fund raising raffles please let me know.
Pass the work along, if any coaches were missed, it was not intentional, this invite is for ALL coaches in CMHA.
Time is of the essence as the date is fast approaching and space for players may be limited. If the response is overwhelming, we may look at have two games on this night as we have 3 hours of ice.
