Chris Shaw Announcement

Posted by Coquitlam Minor Hockey Association on Feb 01 2016 at 05:33PM PST in 2015-2016 Season

Chris Shaw has been offered a wonderful opportunity with his previous hockey organization in sunny California where his daughter resides but the catch is that it starts immediately. The decision to take this new position was difficult for Chris as he has built strong relationships with our young players on his teams and in the development sessions he has been involved with but this opportunity will allow him to spend valuable time with his young daughter and is predicated upon his immediate acceptance. While CMHA is very disappointed to lose Chris, we are very supportive of his desire to move closer to his daughter and we wish Chris much luck with his new chapter in hockey and with his family!

The Atom A1 team will have Derek Doucette take on the role of Head coach working closely with Derry Menard as the parent assistant coach.

The Atom A3 is fortunate to have two very strong parent coaches with Dave Wilkie and Ryan Robinson and the team will continue with them for the remainder of the season.

Derry and Derek have also offered to fill in with CMHA development programs and our current service providers will continue to support and fill in where required especially as schedules become unpredictable as teams enter into playoffs.

CMHA is very lucky to have such dedicated coaches and service providers and we extend our gratitude to them all.
