Press Release - Walford NHL Draft!

Posted by Debra Harper at Jun 26, 2017 4:38PM PDT

Coquitlam Minor Hockey is pleased to congratulate Scott Walford and his entire family for Scott’s Selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

The Montreal Canadiens choose Scott with the 68th overall pick.

Congratulations to Charlene, Steve, Matthew and “Uncle” for their commitment both to Scott and CMHA over the many many years of play, volunteering and Officiating. The Walford family has been a shining example of how best to support their two sons and CMHA. During Scott’s playing days at CMHA, he led our CMHA Peewee A1 team to the BC Hockey Provincials. Scott Walford is the new age of stay-at-home defenceman. He is a very capable skater who can make passes and make sure the team exits the zone. He is a left-handed shot and can play any style of game.
More importantly, Scott is a polite, generous and good natured young man that any parent would be proud of.

Again, congratulations from all of us at CMHA
